Backhaul Network Services is a UK network service available for 1gE & STM4 circuits/spokes. Prices for each individual BNS component are subject to a fixed period over 1, 3 & 5 years. Fixed periods apply to individual components of the BNS solution, and a BNS solution can include components with different fixed periods for example if individual spokes are added to an existing Hub/Main Link/PoP configuration part-way through their 3 or 5 year fixed period.
There is no minimum volume requirement for spokes/circuits for entry to the scheme but prices are charged as an end-to-end solution comprised of the following components and prices:

|
The conditions and rules about the combination of components can be found in the product handbook. As a minimum, one spoke, the first hub module, the first main link and the first pop module are required.
|
The upgrade fee applies to each individual link which is upgraded to a higher bandwidth.
Differing interfaces for multi-mode and single mode optical transmission are available and priced as follows:

The following cancellation charges will apply to the connections associated with the Connection fixed period.

Note:
Other Charges Excess Construction Charges (Note 7)
Excess Construction Charges are the standard charges detailed in the Service Products section of the price list, can be found at:
http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/pricing/serviceproducts.do
Notes:
1. These prices will be applied in accordance with Section 11 of the ‘Conditions’ section of the Contract for Backhaul Network Services.
2. All orders taken for provision of BNS services are subject to feasibility checks to ensure that service can technically be provided.
3. Rental is payable in advance. Quarterly billing of this item is available
4. Connection fees are one off charges which are billed at quarterly intervals based on actual provision of circuits within that quarter. Connection fees are not due where an additional fixed period is entered into for an existing connected circuit.
5. Cancellation Charges: All days will be calculated as Working Days, i.e. ignoring weekends and public holidays. The full cost of any additional work, e.g. duct, which has been specifically incurred for the order by the time of the cancellation, will be recovered in addition to the cancellation charge. Should a Communications Provider request amendments to the Contractual Delivery Date and subsequently cancel the order, the cancellation charge will be calculated on the days between the dates that the Communications Provider notified Openreach of the first amendment and the original Contractual Delivery Date.
6. Timescale Charges are raised to cover time spent by Openreach engineers repairing faults where this work is not covered under the terms of a service contract with Openreach, and for providing or re-arranging services or equipment where other standard Openreach charges are not available. Timescale charges do not apply for the rearrangement of any Openreach network equipment or line-plant which happens to be located on the customer's premises where these charges are assessed under charging rules for the rearrangement of Openreach plant and equipment (see Section 5.6 of the Openreach Price List)
Timescale charges apply to business or residential customers including any emergency home visits. Timescale Charges are detailed in the Service Products section of the price list, can be found at: http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/pricing/serviceproducts.do
7. Excess Construction Charges: will be raised in addition to normal Connection charges where additional infrastructure is provided to give new or extended service at a Communications Provider’s Site or other requested location where Openreach would otherwise not choose to extend its network on the basis of normal commercial criteria. Excess charges apply to situations of extended reach; including provision to a new location within the Communications Provider’s Site but does not apply to situations where existing capacity needs to be increased. There is no ‘within tariff’ allowance - the full value of any applicable charge is payable.Excess Construction Charges are detailed in the Service Products section of the price list, can be found at: http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/pricing/serviceproducts.do
8. See Schedule 5 of the BNS Contract for replacing BES service by BNS. There is no migration product from BES to BNS given the bespoke nature of the BNS component configuration and different equipment requirements.
