Altering our network

Openreach look after the UK's access network. Unless an alternative written agreement is in place, only we can alter this network. So if you need to relocate or re-arrange our infrastructure, you need to contact us first so we can tell you what equipment we may have on your site and where.

Leaving it until after starting work on a development or roadworks could cause costly accidental damage to our network. You'll be liable to foot the bill, and it could result in serious delays to your programme.

You can also ask that we move poles, cabinets or cables that lie on your property. Requests can be made for us to move customer-owned wiring on premises where it lies beyond the Openreach Network Termination Point (for example, line extensions within a home or business).

If you require alterations to the Openreach network in any way and for whatever reason, these pages will guide you through what you need to do and who to contact. For more information about the Network Alterations Team see the fact sheet below.
