Reporting defective Openreach apparatus

Under Section 81/ 140  of the new roads and streetworks act [NRSWA] 1991 there needs to be facilities provided by undertakers to accept reports of plant requiring attention.

Also under sections of the act all statutory undertakers and other service industries have an obligation to ensure their street apparatus is maintained to the reasonable satisfaction of the street & or road authority.

To report defective apparatus:

• Call: 0800 023 2023  Option 2 Option 1 (Note: urgent 2 hour responses MUST use this telephony option to guarantee timely response). 
• Email: dbyd@openreach.co.uk 
• ETON 6: You can submit your Section 81’s /140’s by your noticing system direct into Openreach.

Provision of accurate location details for the defective plant would greatly help us to respond quickly. The addition of a 12  digit grid reference or full post code would help.
