Medium single lid footway boxes
Footway covers come in 6 basic sizes, listed below. Where there are size variations these are contained under these headings.
The boxes that are in this category are those that generally contain small customer connections. The old type were made of concrete with a concrete lid whereas the current is of fibreglass construction with a steel lid.
All sizes are approximate.
There is only one size of cover that falls in this category but it has two applications, this lid can be found on a fibreglass preformed box, JB26, as well as a concrete / brick chamber, JF2. As with the JB 23 above the JB26 will have a thin white edge around the cover whereas the JF2 has a fillet.
