We’re no longer selling:

• all WES, WEES and BES products up to and including 1Gbps, including all resilience options (RO1 and RO2). We also withdrew modifications including upgrades, internal shift, external re-site and external rearranges on 1 June 2013
• WES, WEES and BES 2.5Gbps products (from 11 May 2016)
• WES, WEES and BES 10Gbps and WES Aggregation Link products (from 30 September 2016).

We’ll no longer support BES products from 31 March 2021. Until then, WES, WEES and BES circuits up to 1Gbps will be covered by the repair service level agreement wording in schedule 4C(i) of the connectivity services contract.

Please talk to your Openreach sales and relationship manager about replacing your BES circuit with an EAD circuit.

You can only use BES to connect your co-location site to another co-location site within 15km, and it’s available in speeds from 10Mbps to 10Gbps. 

You can’t use BES to connect:

• your sites or other communications provider sites – unless one or both sites is a Co-location, Netlocate or BT Locate site
• your network and another communications provider’s network – unless it’s between your Co-location, Netlocate or BT Locate facility and another communications provider’s network that isn’t in the same exchange
• your customer’s site to another communications provider’s network, or two or more of your customer’s sites
• core node to core node
• core node to your site
• core node to another communications provider’s site.

You also can’t use BES to provide interconnect services.

You can only use exchange equipment space for public electronic communications network applications. We give full details of this in our licensed facility contracts.
