BES give you a high-speed, permanently connected point-to-point data circuit that’s available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Use it for a secure link between your site and an exchange, or between two exchanges as a daisy chain.
This product isn’t available to new customers
We stopped selling it on 1 June 2011. And we’re ending support for it on 31 March 2021. We’ve replaced it with Ethernet Access Direct (EAD).
We’re no longer selling:
We’ll no longer support BES products from 31 March 2021. Until then, WES, WEES and BES circuits up to 1Gbps will be covered by the repair service level agreement wording in schedule 4C(i) of the connectivity services contract.
Please talk to your Openreach sales and relationship manager about replacing your BES circuit with an EAD circuit.
You can only use BES to connect your co-location site to another co-location site within 15km, and it’s available in speeds from 10Mbps to 10Gbps.
You can’t use BES to connect:
You also can’t use BES to provide interconnect services.
You can only use exchange equipment space for public electronic communications network applications. We give full details of this in our licensed facility contracts.
