OBARCC & the Commitments Monitoring Office
Openreach's Board Audit Risk & Compliance Committee (OBARCC) has special responsibilities to monitor Openreach’s compliance with Commitments made to Ofcom. It is supported by the Commitments Monitoring Office (CMO). The CMO sits within Openreach but has an independent role to review Openreach’s compliance with the Commitments, and the Undertakings whilst these remain in force, and report to the OBARCC
Our Commitments code of practice governs how our people should behave to live up to the Commitments. CPs can raise informal queries or complaints about Openreach’s compliance with the Commitments or Undertakings with the CMO in confidence.
The BT Audit & Risk Committee is now responsible for monitoring BT’s compliance with the Commitments and Undertakings, although the CMO will communicate with the BT Audit & Risk Committee team and will be able to help CPs unsure where to direct their query.
CPs with a formal complaint about Openreach’s compliance with the Commitments should use the CMO’s guidelines.
The OBARCC publishes an annual review of Openreach's compliance with the Commitments in July and a quarterly update on its activities.
