04/01/2023

For information

This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).

This briefing is to inform CPs about the stop-sell of EBD 1Gb variants.

This briefing is to remind CPs of the Ethernet Backhaul Direct (EBD) 1G stop-sell in April 2023. Originally briefed in June 2022 via briefing ETH033/22.

From 1 April 2023, as set out in the above briefing, no new provision orders will be accepted for the EBD 1G product variants (including resilience options and extended reach options).

After 31 March 2023, we will only accept shift (within a building) and cease order types against installed EBD 1G circuits.

To confirm, the following EBD services will continue to be maintained and/or are unaffected by the stop-sell notification:

•           Installed EBD 1G services

•           Repair activities on EBD 1G services

•           EBD 10G products, orders for which can be placed BAU
