ETH003/23 OSEA Repair journey update

31/01/2023

For information

This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).

This briefing is to update all CPs on the T2R (repair) journey for OSEA products.

The T2R (repair) journey for Optical Spectrum Extended Access (OSEA) products on the EMP system is now fully operational. We have completed the transition of OSEA circuits onto the EMP system, and we would encourage all CPs to start using the Openreach Portal option as soon as possible.

We will support the use of the current eCo Repair system for OSEA in parallel with the EMP T2R journey until 1 March 2023 to assist our customers transitioning to the new system. After this date all new fault reports must be raised via EMP T2R. Existing fault tickets on eCo-Repair will continue to be handled on eCo-Repair until their closure.

All OSEA EMP T2R proactive notifications will be sent via email to the email address registered with Openreach for OSEA proactive notifications. If you have not already registered an email address, or would like to change your existing one, you can request this by ‘Reporting a new system related issue’ via the Customer IT Zone: https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/customerzone/ciz/home.do

To support this operational change, we will make a minor change to paragraph 8.1 of Schedule 2 of the Connectivity Services contract in support of Optical Spectrum Extended Access on the EMP T2R system. This has been formally published with the required 28-days' notice and is available from www.openreach.co.uk/cpportal/products/ethernet/contracts.

The OSEA Product Description will be updated shortly to reflect this change.
