GEN088/23 Delay to Openreach changes in support of One Touch Switch

20/12/2023

For information

This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs) who consume FTTP, FTTC, SOGEA, WLR, LLU and SOTAP products.

This briefing is to inform CPs about a delay to the Openreach changes in support of One Touch Switch.

In GEN076/23 Openreach briefed the changes we are making in support of One Touch Switch go-live. On 13 December 2023, the One Touch Switching Company announced that the planned go-live date of 14 March 2024 is no longer achievable. As a result, we will be delaying our planned changes.

System changes

The following functionality has been deployed switched off:

  1. Removal of Cancel Other on migration orders;
  2. Removal of the 10 working day Minimum Lead Time (MLT) for migrations (to be replaced with new MLTs).

We will keep these changes switched off.

Pricing change

We had notified that we would be removing the 7 day rental liability charge for WLR standalone ceases; once removed, rental would be charged up to the termination date of the product. Openreach is withdrawing this notification (ACCN OR882) and will no longer switch on the associated system functionality in EMP R5500 (16 March 2024), meaning that the 7 day rental liability will remain.

Contract changes

We had notified changes to the WLR, MPF and SMPF contracts. Openreach will leave the agreed contract changes on the contracts page on the Openreach website, and remove the effective date of the contract changes notifications.

Documentation changes

Openreach had notified changes to the MPF and SMPF product documentation following the ancillary documents process. We will withdraw the updated draft documents and update the Ancillary documents change log accordingly.
