To notify the upcoming launch of Openreach’s new ‘£750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection’ special offer.

This briefing is to inform CPs about the upcoming launch of a deeper connection discount on EAD 1Gbps Local Access, Standard and Extended Reach circuits provisioned within CLA (Central London Area) postcodes. 

Openreach are announcing the upcoming launch of a deeper connection discount on EAD 1Gbps Local Access, Standard and Extended Reach circuits provisioned within CLA postcodes. 

Titled ‘£750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection Special Offer’ on the Openreach Price List, our new discount builds on our existing ‘EAD 1Gbps Gigabit Drop Zones Connection Charge’ offer in the CLA market by providing an additional £373 connection charge saving on EAD 1Gbps circuits. 

The £750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection special offer will reduce the connection price of EAD 1Gb Local Access (LA) and Standard (STD) variants down to £750, and the connection price of the Extended Reach (ER) variant down to £850, providing a total cost-saving of £1,159 (LA & STD) / £1,164 (ER) respectively, versus Openreach’s standard connection price.  

The new offer will be available for a 9-month period starting 1 July 2022 and ending 31 March 2023 for orders placed and accepted within CLA postcodes. Like our existing offer, Openreach is maintaining the requirement for customers to commit to a 3-year minimum period to participate in the new special offer. This offer will replace the existing EAD 1Gbps Gigabit Drop Zones Connection offer in the CLA from 1 July 2022.   

£750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection Special Offer - Overview:

Eligible products:

Openreach’s ‘£750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection’ special offer will be applicable to newly placed and accepted orders within CLA postcodes for the following EAD services:

EAD 1Gbps

EAD Local Access 1Gbps

EAD Extended Reach 1Gbps

Should a CP elect to participate in the new special offer, the minimum period of eligible circuits will be increased to 36 months (3 years). Should CPs cease a qualifying circuit during the 3-year minimum period after provision completion, 100% of any outstanding rental payments will be due.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Qualifying circuits must be provisioned within CLA postcodes. For more details on eligible CLA postcodes, please click here. Alternatively, CLA postcodes can also be sourced from Openreach’s Gigabit Dropzone page, via the following link: https://www.openreach.co.uk/cpportal/products/flexzone
2. Qualifying orders must be placed and accepted between 1 July 2022 and 31 March 2023. Openreach retains the right to not apply this offer to circuits that do not meet the stated criteria.
3. After placing an EAD 1Gb Local Access, Standard or Extended Reach order via Openreach’s standard processes, CPs must also: A) Notify Openreach of orders which they would like to qualify for the new special offer; and B) Provide circuit details for each order within 45 calendar days of order placement. Notification can be done for both individual and bulk orders; the process for each is outlined below:

• To submit orders in bulk for the new special offer starting 1 July 2022, please contact your Business Development Manager for more information.

Orders that are not notified within 45 calendar days of placement will not qualify for the new special offer. 

Notes

• The £750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection special offer will be fulfilled via a bill rebate. CPs will receive the new offer’s rebate for qualifying orders in an Ethernet invoice following completion of the provision.
• Orders which are submitted for the new offer and cancelled before completion will not be eligible for the new special offer’s rebate.

• From 1 July 2022, the new ‘£750/£850 EAD 1Gbps CLA Connection’ special offer will replace Openreach’s existing ‘EAD 1Gbps Gigabit Drop Zones Connection Charge’ special offer for eligible EAD 1Gb Local Access, Standard or Extended Reach circuits provisioned within CLA postcodes. However:

                              i.        Customers will still be able to consume the EAD 1Gbps Gigabit Drop Zones Connection Charge special offer for EAD 1Gb Local Access, Standard and Extended Reach orders placed and accepted within HNR postcodes after the 1 July 2022 and up to 31 March 2023.

                             ii.        The EAD 1Gbps Gigabit Drop Zones Connection Charge special offer will continue to operate according to the same terms and eligibility criteria outlined on the Openreach Price List, which can be sourced via the following link: https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/products/pricing/loadProductPriceDetails.do?
