ETH040/19 Ethernet Access Portfolio Rationalisation

20/06/2019    For Information

This briefing is for Ethernet Communications Providers (CPs).

This briefing is to inform CPs of our intention to stop new supply and subsequently withdraw two products from the Ethernet Access Portfolio - CCTV Access and EAD SyncE (100Mbps, 1Gbps and 10Gbps)

There are a number of products in the Ethernet Access Portfolio that have negligible demand from CPs. We therefore intend to rationalise the portfolio and intend to do this in phased manner.

Phase 1

From 20 September 2019 CCTV Access and EAD SyncE (100Mbps, 1Gbps and 10Gbps) will no longer be available for new supply. We then intend to withdraw both of these products on 20 September 2020.

Installed Circuits from 20 September

We'll review the circuits that are active after 20 September 2019 and work with any affected CPs to ensure we find a suitable alternative before all services are ceased on 20 September 2020.

Future phases

We continue to assess demand across the portfolio and will communicate any further plans to rationalise the products available
