For information
This briefing is for all Communications Providers (CPs).
This briefing is to inform all CPs of the 12 months’ notification of product stop sell to be activated in the tranche 6 FTTP priority exchanges locations bringing the total of notified exchanges to 455 including the Salisbury trial site.
As part of our ongoing programme to upgrade exchanges with FTTP and in line with existing stop sell plans and policies discussed with industry over the last year, this briefing provides 12 months’ notification of Tranche 6 exchange product stop sells. We intend to issue a First Threshold Notice under SMP Conditions 1.6 and 1.7 on 1 November 2022 for the Tranche 6 exchanges to enable the stop sell to be introduced. Tranche 6 adds a further 79 exchange locations; bringing the total exchanges notified to 455, including the Salisbury trial site.
Effective from 1 November 2022, orders in the Tranche 6 locations for non GEA-FTTP products will be rejected for premises that have GEA-FTTP availability and where coverage of Ultrafast (GEA-FTTP or SOGfast / Gfast capable of delivering greater than 300 Mb speed) within an exchange is greater than 75% completed, unless exceptions apply.
As notified on 17 June 2021 (GEN054/21) and effective from 18 September 2021, the stop sell policy has been amended to allow end customers that already have an active GEA-FTTC or SOGEA service to change CP and remain on either the GEA-FTTC 40/10 or SOGEA 40/10 service. In addition, end customers that already have an active GEA-FTTC or SOGEA service will be able to bandwidth modify to a GEA-FTTC 40/10 or SOGEA 40/10 service. Previously, both scenarios have been restricted under stop sell policy rules.
A reminder of previously announced FTTP upgrade exchange stop sell dates:
The complete list of these notified stop sell exchanges and dates is published on the Openreach web site.
