This briefing is for NGA Communications Providers (CPs).
This briefing is to inform CPs that there has been a delay to the launch of the new low-bandwidth speed tier with a profile of 0.5Mbps on SOGEA only and provide clarification on the ineligibility of these speed tiers counting towards the GEA Special Offer Volume Agreement
Following the briefing on 21 February 2020 to announce the launch of a new low-bandwidth speed tier with a profile of 0.5Mbps on both GEA-FTTP and SOGEA with rental pricing effective from 23 March 2020, there has been a delay to the launch of the SOGEA product, only.
The SOGEA 0.5Mbps product will now launch on 3 July 2020.
The GEA-FTTP 0.5Mbps product will be launched on 23 March 2020 as previously announced.
To confirm, the pricing for both the SOGEA and GEA-FTTP variants will be as previously announced;

The FTTP connection price will launch at £98.48 (Exc VAT) which is the price set to go live on 1 April 2020 across the rest of the GEA-FTTP portfolio.

For any CPs that have signed up to the 'Openreach GEA Special Offer Volume Agreement' (GEN036/18), please note that any volumes acquired on either the 0.5Mbps SOGEA or FTTP bandwidth speeds will not be counted towards the volume commitment targets under the offer.
