This briefing is to notify CPs about updates to the GEA-FTTP Only Offer v2. The offer has been updated (effective 1 February 2021), to minimise the impact on Communications Providers of the lockdown and resulting changes to Openreach’s readiness relating to fibre only drop wires.

Currently CPs have to start using sub-order migration journeys from 1 February 2021 to benefit from connection discounts. The use of these sub-order migration journeys allows Openreach to shift to using fibre only drop wires. However, Openreach has been delayed due to Covid-19 and will not be ready to use fibre only drop wires at scale until April 2021. Therefore, Openreach is delaying the use of migration journeys until 1 April 2021 and will continue to review this timeline, depending on evolution of the lockdown and Openreach readiness.
