NGA2006/22 Adoption of current temporary FTTP Dead on Arrive (DOA) Service Level Guarantee (SLG) framework

16/06/2022    For Information

This briefing is for all FTTP Communications Providers (CPs).

This briefing is to inform CPs that Openreach is adopting the current temporary FTTP DOA SLG framework going forwards from 1 August 2022.  The temporary process, which was implemented in June 2021 and is due to expire on 30 June 2022, is being extended until 31 July 2022 to give Openreach time to update the GEA contract.

This briefing informs CPs that:

  • The temporary FTTP SLG for DoA faults, due to expire on 30 June 2022, is being extended to 31 July 2022.
  • Openreach are updating the GEA contract to adopt the temporary FTTP DLG for DoA faults going forwards from 1 August 2022.

Background:

On 1 July 2021, Openreach implemented a temporary SLA and SLG framework for FTTP DoA, while industry discussions could continue on a long-term framework.  The temporary framework comprised an SLA with the following definition:

  • The fault is considered within the Openreach domain, as per our defined clear codes.
  • A fault is reported to Openreach within 8 working days from KCI3 being sent on the associated provision task.

Not meeting the SLA would result in a one-off payment of £12.  This temporary process aligned with that of FTTC and SOGEA.

As communicated at the CFPCG these payments were backdated to cover affected faults raised from April 2018.

As a result of the industry discussions Openreach have decided to adopt the temporary framework as on-going and update the GEA contract accordingly.

No CP action is required as a result of this extension.
