We are announcing 29 new locations where we will be building FTTP over the next 18 months
We are announcing 29 new locations where we will be building Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) over the next 18 months, as part of our Fibre First programme.
For the first time we are extending the published view of our build plans from 12 to 18 months, giving more clarity and certainty to customers, and providing a complete roadmap to achieving our target of reaching four million homes and business by the end of March 2021.
During the next 18 months work will begin in towns, cities and boroughs across the country.
The 29 new locations are as follows:
Aberdeen Ayr Aughton Bradford Billericay Brentwood Basingstoke Brighton Balham Chorley Wood
|
Derby Hatch End Lichfield Molesey Northampton Newbury Newcastle (N.I.) Norwich Ormskirk Portrush
|
Portstewart Rickmansworth Royal Tunbridge Wells Stanecastle Swindon Thames Ditton Tonbridge Watford Wickford |
This means that 103 locations across the UK have now been included in our Fibre First programme.
We are currently making FTTP available to more than 22,000 new homes and businesses every week across the UK.
Our ambition is to reach 15 million homes and businesses by the mid-2020s if the right investment conditions are in place.
Further information on our plans for the next 18 months, including the total number of exchange areas to be reached in each location, can be found here.
